| Our review: Very nice and easy to use! Starts up easily, and mows consistently well on both nice turf and weed patches. The wheels could use a little more traction, as pushing the mower up hills is difficult. The noise is no more than a pleasant whirring sound - perfectly fine for a Saturday morning mow without the danger of waking up the neighbors! | ||

| This manual push-reel mower has 5 blades. It cuts a swath 16" across, and can be adjusted to cut grass from 1" - 3" high. It comes with a 2-year warranty. $169 |

| Our review: This is the first push mower I have ever used. Seeing the grass flying up in the air as it's being chopped is fascinating, and also strangely comforting. It's noiseless, of course. It works well on flat areas of our lawn, and on areas where there is mostly nice turf. However, on uneven surfaces and big patches of crabgrass, I find it difficult to push the mower forward, and the mowing starts to feel like a workout. This would work well on a small suburban lawn. | ||
| Sunlawn Battery-Operated Trimmer/Edger - BTE-1 | ||
| This trimmer works for half an hour on a full charge (5-8 hours). The battery pack is worn on the shoulder. Together, the trimmer and battery pack weigh about 7 pounds. $129 |

| Our review: This is an effective trimmer that is very easy to start up - no pull cord designed for burly men! - and equally easy to use. This is not a weed whacker for tough weeds. It's lightweight, and with only one cutting cord, is most useful for edging lawns and cutting down weeds with softer stems (for example, it didn't even make a dent on a mature Queen Anne's Lace plant). | ||
