Welcome to Sugarbush Nursery! We are a small, family-owned nursery specializing in native perennials for residential landscapes in southeastern PA. We carry over 120 varieties of Pennsylvania native plants, including many cultivars, as well as many other plants native to the mid-Atlantic. We take great pride in helping customers choose the right plant for the right place. See Our Plants for a complete
list of our stock.
We grow and/or care for our plants using only organic methods - so plants are healthier, and ready to take off in your garden. We encourage you to start gardening organically, if you're not already, and experience the difference in the health of your soil and plants! We carry organic soil amendments, fertilizers, and weed and pest controls to complement our plants, and are happy to give advice.
We are also pleased to carry manual and electric push-reel mowers and battery-operated trimmers from Sunlawn. These great products are the latest in clean-air gardening technology, and are well-made and reasonably priced. Come in and try out our demo models!
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS:
We're going 100% native over the next 2 years! At the moment we still carry some non-native plants. Once they've all been adopted into loving homes, they will be replaced with natives, which support wildlife at many levels, are well-adapted to local growing conditions, and are generally low maintenance.
June 13, 2008: We've got a blog! Either Anne-Marie likes to hear the sound of her own voice, or she has something interesting to say. You can decide for yourself! The first post is a little philosophical, but in the future, these will be good sources of information about what's going on at the nursery.
Friday, June 27: Anne-Marie will be speaking at the Morgantown Village Library at 7 PM, giving a program on the relationship between native plants and wildlife. This event is free and open to the public.
2 Big Sales Weekends: July 5 & 6, and July 12 & 13: we're putting all of our non-native stock on sale to make way for an expanded selection of natives! Every non-native perennial will be priced at either 3 for $10 or 2 for $10 for these 2 weekends only. Stop by...this is a quick and inexpensive way to fill in those holes in your garden! Check back here for a complete list of plants on sale.
Saturday, August 23, 9AM - 1 PM: Fall Gardeners Market.
Sugarbush will be at this dynamic plant sale, hosted by the Mid-Atlantic
Hardy Plants Society, at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, 1601
Valley Forge Road, Valley Forge, PA. Many vendors, and plants and garden
items you won't find anywhere else. While you're at it, why not become
a member of the Hardy Plants Society?
Saturday and Sunday, September 20th and 21st: PA Energy Fest,
Kempton.
An event not to be missed by anyone with an interest in sustainable
living, renewable energy, and a host of related areas. We'll be there
with plants and products for sale, and lots of information about native
plants. www.paenergyfest.com
